Do's And Don'ts While Flying Rc Model Planes
By Victor Epand
Do's

If you are planning to enter the world of flying, then choose a cheaper and slower plane with a simple- to- use Remote Control. If you are planning to assemble your plane, then read the instructions properly, before assembling the parts together. This will enable you to learn without crashing your plane often and it will also be affordable for you to replace the plane in case of a major crash. Choose an open field with lots of grass, so that your plane is insulated against crashes. If you are joining a model flying club, then pay attention to their rules and regulations and take out insurance against claims, if your plane strikes any body or their property.

Take along an expert, who can show you the ropes before you attempt any new maneuver. Start with the basics before attempting difficult stunts like loops, rolls or inverted flying. If you are flying a gasoline-powered plane, then ensure that the engine noise does not disturb people living nearby. Put up a small sticker on your plane mentioning your name and contact number, so in case your plane flies out of range and lands in someone's property, then they can contact you. Do attend model plane shows to get a wider view of the model-flying world.

Don'ts

Do

not let small children handle the plane. If they want to see, touch and feel the plane, then remove the batteries and keep the remote control out of their sight. Do not practice your stunts, when there are lots of people on the ground or lots of planes in the air. Do not put on your remote control before checking the frequency, which others are using first. Do not let your plane fly too far away, it might just go out of range and crash somewhere. Do not fly your plane, where there are power lines or too many trees. Do not try to find a fast plane before learning on a slower plane.

Do not try any stunts on your own. Get an expert to help you out. Do not fly, when the condition outside is stormy or if there are chances of heavy rain. Do not fly, if your plane's batteries are not fully charged. Do not try to turn your planes propeller with your hand, especially the gasoline-powered planes. You could lose a finger in the process. Do not land your plane near your pets, if they are nervous. They could chew up the plane. Do not fly your plane over public roads or over someone's private property. Do not use your remote control in a rough manner. It is an electronic item, so treat it gently.

So, follow these do's and don'ts and have a safe flight.
